Finishing Touches

Very few garages are completely finished when the house is built. Current building code requires that walls common to the house be covered in gypsum board, so you're lucky if one or two walls are covered. Even if there is gypsum board, the walls are seldom truly ready for paint. Finishing the walls in a garage isn't very expensive or difficult. At the most, you'll need to frame a wall or two (if you have concrete) and have Sheetrock hung. If you're a do-it-yourselfer, this is a great project to take on because the quality of the finishing work isn't that critical.
